For those of us that have been around the Winnipeg skate scene, and
especially The Edge, you will for sure remember a man named Paul
Hoffmann. It was 10 years ago on Good Friday that we lost a good
friend and mentor and today we want to remember him and the impact he
had on many of our lives and on the skate scene as a whole. As
Director of The Edge during most of the nineties, Paul had the
opportunity to be involved in the lives of so many of Winnipeg's skate
legends. His passion for life, skating, graffiti, and most of all
people left a lasting imprint on anyone who had the opportunity to
meet him. Paul had an incredible ability to connect with people and
explain his faith in God in a way that was real and inspiring. Paul
left behind his wife, Laurel, his son, Daniel, and a generation of
skaters and bikers that will continue to miss huge personality.
R.I.P. PHIX, your spirit lives on!
If anyone has stories they remember about Paul or would simply like to
send a message to his wife and son please email genico@sk8skates.com
